French and Indian War was when British and French fought over the Ohio River Valley.
Native Americans were allies to the French.
William Pitt increased the amount of money, equipment and troops
Treaty of Paris granted France’s land to the British.
British also gained the Spanish colony of Florida.
Britain won the war doubling their amount of land in North America.
Spain lost land in the east but took control of all land west of the Mississippi
King George III made the Proclamation of 1763.
Proclamation of 1763 only allowed Native Americans to settle west of the Appalachians.
Colonist disliked the Proclamation of 1763.
Sugar Act 1764 tax on sugar
Quartering Act 1764 colonists were forced to house British soldiers
Townshend Acts 1767 tax on imported goods
Repeal to withdraw
Boycott to refuse to buy something
