TermDefinition
Antagonist A person who struggles against or competes with another; The enemy of the protagonist.
Antonym A word having the opposite or nearly opposite meaning of another word.
Character A person, usually in work of art.
Homonym A word pronounced the same as another but having a different meaning, whether spelled the same way or not; also known as a homophone or homograph.
Narrator The person who tells the story.
Prefix A part of a word placed at the front of a word to create a new meaning.
Protagonist The lead character or hero in a work of art.
Suffix A part of a word placed at the end of a word to create a new meaning.
Synonym A word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another word
Translate To change from one language to another.
