When you scan something with a scanner, you are Scanning an image
any image on a computer is called a digital image
When you "digitize" an image, a computer does what It converts the real world colour and light to a numeric value which consists of rows of millions of colour samples.
The samples numeric colour data values are called Pixels
What is resolution The number of pixels per unit area
What is CCD Charged couple device. It is used to convert images to pixels
What is pixel short for Picture Element
if a picture on a computer is black and white, what happens to the number that corresponds to a certain colour the pixel has too be It is assigned to a shade of grey
The part of the camera that allows light to enter is called the aperture in a camera
The aperture is comparable to the pupil in the human eye
the part of the camera that controls how much light enters is called the diaphragm in a camera
the diaphragm in a camera is comparable to the iris in the human eye
The part of the camera that covers the aperture is called the shutter in a camera
The shutter in a camera is comparable to the eyelids in the human eye
the part of the camera that forms an image when light hits it is called the film in a camera
the film in a camera is comparable to the retina in the human eye
