Ch. 3 Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
Compatible Numbers Numbers that are easy to compute mentally.
Measures of Central Tendency Mean, Median, and Mode are examples of this.
Mean The sum of the data values divided by the number of data values.
Median The middle number when data values are written in order from least to greatest.
Mode The data item that occurs most often.
Formula An equation that shows relationship between two quantities that are represented by variables.
Perimeter The distance around a figure.
Outlier A data value that is much greater or much less than the other data values.
