QuestionAnswer
parameter numbers that stay the same in the equation after they are chosen
growth factor describes how much the output value changes when the input value increases by 1
solution the number or numbers that when substituted into an equation or inequality make the equation or inequality true
variable A symbol for a number we don't know yet. It is usually a letter like x or y
parabola a particular kind of mathematical curve, the graph of a quadratic function y = ax2 + bx + c where a does not equal zero
x-intercept the point(s) where the graph intercepts the x-axis
y-intercept the point(s) where the graph intercepts the y-axis
x y table represents pairs of values of two related quantities, the input value (x) appears first, the output value (y), appears second
tile pattern tiles that are arranged in a pattern
graph represents numerical information in a visual form, the numbers may come from a table, situation (pattern), or rule (equation or inequality)
rule an equation or inequality that represents the relationship between two numerical quantities
