| anitgen | substance that stimulates the production of an anitbody |
| basophil | white blood cell containig granules taht stain blue; associated with the release of histamine and heparin |
| eosinophil | white blood cell that contains granules that stain red; associated with allergic reaction |

| megakaryocyte | large platelet precursor cell found in the bone marrow |
| moncyte | leukocyte with one large mucleus. |
| neutrophil | granulocytic leukocyt formed in bone marrow |
| plasma | liquid portion of blood; contains water, proteins, salts, nutrients, lipids, hormones, and vitamins |
| platelets | small blood fragments that collect at sites of inhury to begin the clotting process |
| serum | plasma minus clotting proteins and cells. clear, yellowish fluid that spereates from blood when it is allowed to clot. |
