TermDefinition
DATA A collection of facts, such as numbers, words, measurements, observations or even just descriptions of things.
QUESTIONNAIRE A set of printed or written questions with a choice of answers, devised for the purposes of a survey or statistical study.
HYPOTHESIS A statement that might be true, which can then be tested.
EXPERIMENT A way of finding out information by collecting data in a careful manner.
SURVEY To gather information by individual samples so as to learn about the whole thing.
REPRESENT To stand for or symbolise.
TABLE Numbers or quantities arranged in rows and columns
BAR CHART A graph drawn using rectangular bars to show how large each value is. The bars can be horizontal or vertical.
PICTOGRAM A graph that uses pictures or symbols to show the value of the data.
PIE CHART A circular chart divided into sectors, each sector shows the relative size of each value.
