What are the steps for multiplying fractions? Hint: ISMS Change to improper fractions, simplify, multiply fractions, then simplify again.
What does it mean to cross-simplify? Simplify a top and a bottom part of the fraction. Example 2/10 and 2/20 becomes 1/5 and 1/10.
1 2/5 X 5 5/6 = 8 1/6
Simplify 49/6 8 1/6
