Term 2 Algebra 1 Vocabulary

Slope-intercept Form y=mx+b
Rate of Change Allows you to see the relationship between two quantities that are changing
Slope Vertical change/Horizontal change=rise/run
Linear Any equation whose graph is a line
Y-intercept The y-coordinate where a line crosses the y-axis
Standard Form of a Linear Equation Ax+By=C,when a and b are not zero
X-intercept The x-coordinate of the point where a line crosses the x-axis
Point-Slope Form A linear equation of a non-vertical line written as y-y1=m(x-x1)
Parallel Lines Lines in the same plane that never intersect
Perpendicular Lines Lines that intersect to create right angles
Negative Reciprocal Product of 2 numbers is -1
