| Term | Definition |

| Audience | the assembled spectators or listeners at a a public event such as a play, film, concert, or meeting |
| Purpose | the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists |
| Claim | a state that something is the case, typically without providing evidence or proof |
| Argument | an exchange of opposite views, typically a heated or angry one |
| Counter-Claim | a claim made to go against another claim |
| Bias | prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair |
| Proof | evidence or argument establishing a fact or truth of a statement |
| Fallacy | a mistaken belief, especially one based on unsound arguments |
| Logic | reasoning assessed according to strict principles of validity |
| Syllogism | an instance of a form of reasoning in which a conclusion is drawn form two given or assumed propositions |
| Induction | the action or process of bringing someone to a post or organization |
| Deduction | the action of taking something away |
