What responsibilities did the peasant have towards the lord of a manor? Peasants had to work several days a week, repaired roads, bridges, and fences, paid lord a fee for marriage, inheriting acres, or when they use local mill to grind grain

How did a merchant guild differ from a craft guild? Merchant guilds dominated town life passing laws, deciding taxes, and how to spend the towns money. Craft guilds represented workers in one occupation and they resented the powerful merchants
How did guilds improve life for townspeople? Gave them more say and power
What did guilds do? Protected own economic interest, limited membership in guilds, no one except guild members could work in that trade,made rules to regulate hours, quality of goods and prices, provided social services,pledged support to women and orphans of their members
