what is matter? Matter is anything that has mass or takes up space.
what are physical and chemical properties? physical property is a characteristic of a pure substance that can be observed without changing A chemical property is a characteristic of a pure substance that describes its ability to change.
what is the difference between elements, compounds and mixtures? element is a pure substance that cant be broken down. a compound is a pure substance made up of 2 or more molecules. A mixture is 2 or more substances mixed together but are not chemically combined.
what are heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures? Heterogeneous Mixture: substances unevenly distributed throughout the mixture Homogeneous Mixture: substances are evenly distributed throughout the mixture
what is weight weight is the measure of force of gravity pulling on an object
what is volume? Volume is the amount of space matter occupies.
what is density? Density relates the mass of a material to a given volume.
what is mass? amount of matter in an object
What is a physical change? any change that alters the form or appearance but doesn't change the substance
