| Pressure | The force pushing on a surface divided by the area of that surface |
| Boyle's Law | A principle that describes the relationship between the pressure and the volumes of a gas at a constant temperature |
| Charle's Law | A principle that describes the relationship between the temperature and volume of a gas at a constant pressure |
| Nucleus | A central core of an atom containing protons and usually neutrons |
| Atom | The basic particle from which all elements are made |
| Electron | A tiny, negative charged particle that moves around the nucleus of an atom |
| Mass number | The sum of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom |
| Proton | A small, positively charged particle in the nucleus of an atom |
| Atomic Number | The number of protons in the nucleus of an atom |
| Model | A diagram, a mental picture, a mathematical statement, or an object that helps explain ideas about the natural world |
| Neutron | A small particle in the nucleus of the atom, with no electrical charge |
| Isotope | An atom with the same number of protons and a different number of neutrons from other atoms of the same element |
