what is an ionic bond? when a positively charged ion forms a bond with a negatively charged ions and one atom transfers electrons to another
what is a Covalent bond? chemical bond that involves the sharing of electron pairs between atoms
What is an Atom? the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist consisting of protons neutrons and electrons.
what is the electron configuration of chlorine? 2,8,7
what is the electron configuration of oxygen? 2,8,6
How many electrons are in the outer shell of an oxygen atom? 6
How many electrons can the first shell of an atom hold? 2
How many electrons can the second shell of an atom hold? 8
What is a molecule? a collection of 2 or more atoms, held together by chemical bonds.
