Term | Definition |

Inequality | a mathematical sentence that compares expressions, Using the less than, greater than, less than or equal too, and greater than or equal too. |
Solution of an Inequality | a value that makes an inequality true |
Solution Set | the set of all solutions in an inequality |
Graph of an Inequality | A graph that shows all the solutions of an inequality on a number line |
Compound Inequality | An inequality formed by joining two inequalities with the word "and" or the word "or" |
Absolute Value Inequality | An equation that contains an absolute value expression |
Linear Inequality in Two Variables | An inequality that is the result of replacing the equal sign in teh linear equation with the <,>, <=, >= |
Solution of a linear inequality | an ordered pair (x,y) that makes a linear inequality true; all of the points in the shaded half-plane are solutions |
Graph of a Linear Inequality | a graph in two variables that shows all of the solutions of an inequality in a coordinate plane. |
Half-Planes | In a coordinate plane, the regions on either side of a boundary line |
