TermDefinition
Inequality a mathematical sentence that compares expressions, Using the less than, greater than, less than or equal too, and greater than or equal too.
Solution of an Inequality a value that makes an inequality true
Solution Set the set of all solutions in an inequality
Graph of an Inequality A graph that shows all the solutions of an inequality on a number line
Compound Inequality An inequality formed by joining two inequalities with the word "and" or the word "or"
Absolute Value Inequality An equation that contains an absolute value expression
Linear Inequality in Two Variables An inequality that is the result of replacing the equal sign in teh linear equation with the <,>, <=, >=
Solution of a linear inequality an ordered pair (x,y) that makes a linear inequality true; all of the points in the shaded half-plane are solutions
