Atomic Number Number of protons in an atom nucleus
Protons A subatomic particle with a postive charge that is found in the nucleus. The mass of a proton is slightly less than a neutron.
Electrons The electron is a subatomic particle with a negative charge, the eletrons are a generation of the lepton family. The mass of the electron is 1/1836 of a proton.
Neutrons A subatomic particle with no electiric charge and is slightly more heavier then a proton (10/31319).
DNA DNA is a molecule that encodes the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms and many viruses
Metalliods A metalloid is a chemical element that has properties in between, or is a mixture of.
Noble Gases The noble gases make a group of chemical elements with similar properties: under standard conditions, they are all odorless, colorless, monatomic gases with very low chemical reactivity.
Ions An Ion is an atom or molecule in which the total number of electrons is not equal to the total number of protons, giving the atom a net positive or negative electrical charge.
Chemical Reaction A chemical reaction is a process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substances to another.
Atomic Mass The atomic mass is the mass of an atomic particle, sub-atomic particle, or molecule. The protons and neutrons account for almost all of the mass of an atom.
Non-Metal Non-metals are the elements in groups 14-16 of the periodic table. Non-metals are not able to conduct electricity or heat very well.
