graphing terms

interval the distance between two numbers on the scale of a graph
multiple-bar graph a bar graph showing two or more sets of data for each category
multiple-line graph a line graph showing two or more sets of data for the same period
stem-and-leaf plot a type of graph that shows groups of data arranged by place value
histogram a bar graph that shows the frequency with which, or the number of times, data occur within certain intervals
box-and-whisker graph a graph that shows how far apart and how evenly data are distributed
lower extreme the least number in a set of data
upper extreme the greatest number in a set of data
lower quartile the median of the lower half of a set of data
upper quartile the median of the upper half of a set of data
