| Atomic Number | The number of protons (Z) of each atom of that element. |
| Isotopes | Atoms of the same element that have different masses. |
| Nuclide | a general term for a specific isotope of an element. |
| Atomic Mass Unit (amu) | The unit for the atomic mass of any is determined by comparing it to the mass of carbon-12 |
| Average Atomic Mass | The weighted average of the atomic masses of the naturally occurring isotopes of an element. |
| Mole | the amount of a substance that contains as many particles as there are atoms in exactly 12 grams of carbon-12. |
| Avogadro's Number | 6.02X10^23 |
| Molar Mass | The mass of one mole of a pure substance |
