For best results start CPR within 10 seconds

The proper compression rate for performing CPR on a victim of any age is 100 compressions per minute
In two-rescuer CPR Switch roles every 2 minutes or 5 cycles
CPR is needed in a victim that is unresponsive start CPR with chest compressions
Avoid gastric inflation by not giving too large or too quick a breath
Allow the chest to recoil between compressions so that the heart can refill with blood
Child compressions at 1/3 depth of chest
Depth of Adult compressions at a depth of 2 inches to creat blood flow
Mouth-to-mouth CPR Pinch nose, give 2 breaths while watch chest
Bag-mask ventilation is only used in 2 rescuer CPR (barrier mask is used in 1-rescuer)
Use the two-thumb-encircling hands technique for 2 rescuer CPR hand placement for Infant compressions
Corotid Pulse for Adults and child
Brachial pulse for Infants
AED shock is delivered when AED advises one
If pediatric pads are not available Adult pads can be used
In an advanced airway situation give one breath every 6-8 seconds (compression rate remains 100/minute)
How can you tell if rescue breaths worked in an infant? There is a visible rise in the chest
Best method of opening airway when you don't suspect a neck injury? Head tilt chin lift technique
2 Rescuers CPR - What does each person do? One does chest compressions and one keeps open airway and does breaths
Why are chest compressions important? Pumps blood to the rest of the body
What is the first step to perform once the AED arrives on the scene? Turn on the AED
When should you deliver a shock from the AED? After it advises you too
What is the best way to relive severe choking in a responsive adult? Perform abdominal thrusts
Compression ventillation ration recommended for 2 rescuer child CPR 15:2
If choking adult becomes unresponsive while doing Heimlic Activate Emergency response system
Recommended compression ventilation ration for 1 rescuer infant CPR is? 30:2
