ALL OF THE 7TH GRADE MATH VOCABULARY

TermDefinition
Numerator The top part of a fraction
Denominator The bottom part of a fraction
Absolute value The distance of a number from one to zero
Integers Whether the number is positive or negative
Opposites Same distance away from zero
Ratio A relationship between two numbers
Rate The speed of increasing or decreasing
Unit rate The rate at which a unit increases
Unit price The cost of one unit per measure recip
Reciprocal Binding two parts equally
Variable A letter representing a number
Proportion A name stating that two ratios are equal
Tax The amount that your paying extra
Commission The price the seller gets per item sold
Percent One part in every hundred
