| digits | The symbols 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 used to write numbers. |
| word form | A number written in words. Example 125=one hundred twenty five. |
| Expanded form | A number written as the sum of the values of its digits. Example 247=200+40+7 |
| fact family | A group of related facts using the same numbers. |
| difference | The answer when subtracting two numbers. |
| estimate | To give a number or answer that tells about how much or how many. |
| round | to replace a number with another number that tells about how much or how many. |
| sum | The answer when adding two or more addends. |
| Associative Property of Addition | (3+2)+4=3+(2+4) |
| Commutative Property of Addition | 5+3=3+5 |
| addends | Numbers added together to give a sum. |
| Zero Property of Addition | The sum of zero and any number is that number. 3+0=3 |
| standard form | A number written in a way that shows only its digit. 385 |
