Term | Definition |

Alegbra | The use of variables to express general rules about numbers and operations |
Expression | A mathematical sentence involving numbers, variables, and/or operations, but does not have an equal sign |
Equation | A mathematical sentence stating that two expressions are the same |
Variable | A symbol or letter that stands for an unknown value |
Order of Operations | The order in which a mathematical expression or equation is to be divided |
Prime | A number with only two factors: 1 and itself |
Composite | A number with more than two factors |
Multiple | The product of any two whole numbers |
Factor Pair | Two whole number factors whose product is the number |
Factor Rainbow | A list of all factors for a number |
