Thermite process Alum. + Iron, repair railway lines, molten iron in vigorous reaction, filling gaps and cracks in rail then hardens & Chromium from core, ore converted to chromium oxide, aluminum reduces the oxide and we obtain chromium
Sacrificial protection of iron prevent rusting, zinc more reactive, more ready to form positive ions, zinc forms the oxides instead of the iron
Galvanisation iron/steel plated with zinc by electrolysis & if broken off, there is still sacrificial protection
Making cells more reactive metal has electrons flow from it to the less reactive metal
