Fractions

TermDefinition
denominator the bottom number in a fraction. It is the total number of equal parts.
fraction a number that represents an equal part of a whole or an equal part of a set
unit fraction represents the quantity formed by one part when a whole is partitioned into equal parts
equivalent fractions fractions that represent the same part of the whole
numerator the top number in a fraction. It is the number of equal parts being represented.
