QuestionAnswer
exposition an introduction of a story-states character, setting and some of the conflict
rising action main events in a narrative that lead to the climax/turning point.
climax highest tension point of the story, when you find out if the conflict will be solved
turning point synonym for climax- highest tension point of the story , soon the conflict will be solved.
falling action main events between the climax and resolution that help finalize the solution to the problem.
resolution the end of the narrative in which everything is wrapped up (happily ever after)
internal conflict stuggles the main character faces within his or herself
external conflict stuggles the main character faces with an opposing / outside force.
indirect characterization the author uses characters' dialougure, action and thoughts to tell the reader traits about the character
direct characterization the author uses specific adjectives to state traits and characteristics for a character.
