TermDefinition
Atom the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist
Boiling Point The temperature at which a liquid boils and turns into vapour
Conductivity How much a material can conduct electrictiy
Density The degree of compactness of a substance
Electron a stable subatomic particle with a charge of negative electricity, found in all atoms and acting as the primary carrier of electricity in solids.
Element an essential or characteristic part of something abstract
Hazard Symbol substances that cannot be chemically interconverted or broken down into simpler substances
Mass a large body of matter with no definite shape
Melting Point the temperature at which a given solid will melt.
Neutron a subatomic particle of about the same mass as a proton but without an electric charge
Nucleus the positively charged central core of an atom, consisting of protons and neutrons and containing nearly all its mass.
Proton a stable subatomic particle occurring in all atomic nuclei, with a positive electric charge equal in magnitude to that of an electron.
State the particular condition that a substance is in at a specific time
Subatomic Patricle matter that is within an atom
Volume the amount of space that a substance or object occupies
