QuestionAnswer
Unit Rate A rate simplified so that it has a denominator of one.
Rate A ratio of two measurements having different units.
Ratio A comparison of 2 numbers by division.
Cross Products If a/c =b/d then add ad=bc.
Proportions A statement of equality of two or more ratios.
Scale Drawing A drawing that is used to represent an object that is too large or too small to be drawn at actual size.
Scale The relationship between the measurements on a drawing or model and the measurements of the real object.
Scale Model A model used to represent an object that is too large or too small to be built to actual size.
Scale Factor The ratio of a length on a scale drawing or model to the corresponding length on the real object.
Base In percent proportion, the whole quantity.
Part In a percent proportion,the number being compared to the whole quantity.
Discount The amount by which the regular price of an item is reduced.
Simple Interest The amount of money paid or earned for the use of money.
Percent of Change The ratio of the increase or decrease of an amount to the original amount.
Probability The ratio of the number of ways a certain event can occur to the number of possible outcomes.
Outcomes Possible results of a probability event.
Simple Event One outcome or a collection of outcomes.
Theoretical Probability What should occur in a probability experiment.
Experimental Probability What actually occurs in a probability experiment.
Sample Space The set of possible outcomes.
