| rational number | A number that can be written as the ratio of two numbers, a/b, where a and b are integers and b does not equal 0. |
| integer | The set of whole numbers and their opposites. |
| numerator | The number above the fraction bar in a fraction. |
| denominator | The number below the fraction bar in a fraction. |
| terminating decimal | A decimal that ends. |
| repeating decimal | A decimal that has a pattern that repeats. |
| equivalent equations | Equations that have the same solution. |
