TermDefinition
Resolution the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter
Chapter a main division of a book, typically with a number or title
Rhyme scheme the ordered pattern of rhymes at the ends of the lines of a poem or verse
Parallel the use of components in a sentence that are grammatically the same
Foreshadowing a literary device in which a writer gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story
Act a part of a play defined by elements such as rising action, climax and resolution
Flashback a scene in a movie, novel, etc., set in a time earlier than the main story
In media res ("in the midst of things") is the literary and artistic narrative technique of relating a story from the midpoint, rather than the beginning
Meter a rhythm of accented and unaccented syllables which are organized into patterns
