Knock on door Never open the door for anyone unless you can see and recognize them personally. this means no sales people, repair man, or deliveries
Harassing calls Don't respond immediately hang up-caller ID? don't call them back instead call the police if harasser calls back, and give them the phone number. some laws as harassing in person- first time warning second time arrest!
per-pair for your return leave lights, and or radio on. Give the impression that someone is home
Neighbors Get to know them so you have someone to go to if necessary.
returning home Use your gut feeling- don't investigate signs of disturbance.
visual scan Before you approach the car be sure that you are alone, cheek underneath and in back seat. keeping it neat will help avoid a place to hide.
