| persona | the narrator. |
| prose | anything that isn’t poetry. It can be fiction or nonfiction. |
| rhetoric | the study of language. |
| dialogue | conversation between characters. |
| genre | type of literature (short story, poem, drama, sci-fi) |
| thesis statement | central idea; what you are going to prove |
| antagonist | the person that goes against the main character |
