Chapter 2 - Newtonian Mechanics

Newton's First Law a body at rest or in motion with constant velocity will remain that way unless acted upon by a force
Newton's Second Law F = ma; F direction = a direction
Newton's Third Law For every action, there is always an equal but opposite reaction; Fba = -Fab
Gravitational Force Eq F = Gm1m2/r^2
Translational Eq Sum of the force vectors equals 0
Rotational Eq Torque
Torque Equation T = rFsin theta
Torque in clockwise direction is... negative
Find max Torque at sin 90 degrees cuz it = 1
Static Friction force which must be overcome to set an object in motion; opposes motion; to get object moving from rest
Kinetic Friction to keep object moving; (mu)(F normal)
When two blocks are connected on conveyor belt... their acceleration is equal and their tensions are equal; add equations together to find acceleration and Tension
Uniform Circular Motion Acceleration and Force Equations a = v^2/r; F centripetal = (mv^2)/r = ma
