Matter Has mass and takes up space
Mass Amount of material or stuff in an object

Atoms Smallest particles of matter

Chemical Change matter becomes a different kind of matter
Physical Change change in size, shape or state of matter
States of matter Solid, liquid, gas and plasma
Solid atoms tightly packed; own shape
Liquid atoms move around; shape of container
Gas atoms flow freely- fly away; can't see it
Freezing and Melting Points ice melts and water freezes at 0 degrees C
Boiling Point water - 100 degrees C
Evaporation change from a liquid to a gas
Condensation change from a gas to a liquid
Soluble Capable of being loosened or dissolved
Insoluble Incapable of being dissolved
Solvent Substance that dissolves a solute like water with salt
Solute The substance that dissolves in a solvent.
Solution Solute + Solvent = Solution
Dissolve Cause to mix completely
Saturated Solution can't dissolve any more solute;full;at capacity
