| Amount | Code word for how many moles |
| Molar Mass | The mass of one mole of a substance |
| Mole | A unit of measure in Chemistry |
| Mass | Amount of a substance measured in grams |
| Particle | atoms, molecules or ions. |
| Atom | Smallest part of an element |
| Ion | A charged particle that has lost or gained electrons |
| Ratio | A proportion between two things |
| Concentration | The amount a substance in a particular volume. Symbol c, unit usually moles per litre |
| Volume | The space something takes up |
| Solution | a liquid such as water that has another substance dissolved in it. |
| Titration | Mixing precise amounts of two solutions so that the concentration of one can be calculated if you know the concentration of the other. |
| Standard solution | A solution with an exactly known concentration |
| Burette | Equipment that can measure accurately variable volumes of a chemical solution. |
| Pipette | Equipment that can measure accurately a set volume of a chemical solution. |
| Meniscus | The curved surface formed by water in narrow containers |
| Aliquot | A measured amount of a solution |
| Titre | The minimum amount of a solution needed to complete a reaction |
| Concordant | Data or results that agree closely with each other |
| Accurate | Data or results that agree with the correct answer |
