Scale Drawings

TermDefinition
similar Figures with the same shape (angle measures) and different, but proportional side lengths.
corresponding sides Sides in the same relative position in two different polygons that have the same number of sides.
corresponding angles Angles in the same relative position in two different polygons that have the same number of angles.
proportional Figures have equal ratios in corresponding sides.
Indirect Measurement A method of measuring an object by using formulas, similar figures, and/or proportions.
Scale The ratio between two sets of measurements.
Scale Drawing A drawing that uses a scale to make an object smaller than (reduction) or larger than (enlargement) the real object.
Scale Factor The ratio used to enlarge or reduce similar figures.
Scale Model A proportional model of a three-dimensional object.
