| Chord | A segment whose endpoints lie on a circle. |
| Diameter | A cord that contains the center of a circle |
| Secant of a Circle | A line that contains a chord |
| Tangent to a Circle | A line that contains a chord |
| Circle | The set of all points in a plane at a given distance from a given point in the plane |
| Radius | A segment from a point on a circle or a sphere to the center. |
| Congruent Circles | Circles with the same radius. |
| Concentric Circles | Circles that lie in the same plane that share the same center. |
| Inscribed Angle | Angle whose vertex lies on a circle and whose sides contain chords of the circle. |
| Central Angle | Angle whose vertex is the center of the circle and whose sides contain radii of the circle. |
| Circumference | Distance around a circle, that is, the perimeter of a circle. |
| Arc Length | A fraction of the circumference of a circle defined by the arc. |
| Arc of a Circle | Two points on a circle and the continuous part of the circle between the two points |
| Semicircle | An arc of a circle whose endpoints of a diameter. |
| Minor Arc | An arc of a circle whose length is less than the length of a semicircle of the circle. |
| Major act | An arc of a circle whose length is greater than the length of a semicircle of the circle |
