Tangent to a Circle | a line that lies in the plane of a circle and that intersects the circle at exactly one point (point of a tangency) |
Circle | the set of all points in a plane at a given distance from a given point in the plane |
Radius | a segment from a point on a circle or a sphere to the center |
Congruent Circles | circles with the same radius |
Concentric Circles | Circles that lie in the same plane that share the same center |
Inscribed Angle | angle whose vertex lies on a circle and whose sides contain chords of the circle |
Central Angle | angle whose vertex is the center of a circle and whose sides contain radii of the circle |
Circumfrence | distance around a circle, that is, the perimeter of a circle |
Arc Length | a fraction of the circumference of a circle defined by the arc |
Arc of a Circle | two points on a circle and the continuous part of the circle between the two points |
Semicircle | an arc of a circle whose endpoints are the endpoints of a diameter |
