| Satire | a technique employed by writers to expose and criticize foolishness and corruption of an individual or a society by using humor, irony, exaggeration or ridicule |
| Symbolism | the use of symbols to signify ideas and qualities by giving them symbolic meanings that are different from their literal sense |
| Propaganda | ideas or statements that are often false or exaggerated and that are spread in order to help a cause, a political leader, a government, etc. |
| Fable | a short story that usually is about animals and that is intended to teach a lesson |
| Irony | a figure of speech in which words are used in such a way that their intended meaning is different from the actual meaning of the words |
| Socialism | a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies |
| Democracy | a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting |
