Angle Terms

Chapter 9

QuestionAnswer
Acute An angle measuring between 0 and 90 degrees.
Right An angle measuring exactly 90 degrees
Obtuse An angle measuring between 90 and 180 degrees.
Straight An angle measuring exactly 180 degrees.
Complementary 2 angles whose sum measures 90 degrees
Supplementary 2 angles whose sum measures 180 degrees
Adjacent 2 angles that share a common side and a common vertex
Vertical 2 angles formed by intersecting lines. The two angles are opposite each other and equal to each other.
Parallel Two straight lines that do not intersect.
Perpendicular Two lines that intersect at a right angle.
180 degrees The sum of the angle measurements of a triangle.
Triangle A closed shape with 3 sides and 3 angles.
Acute Triangle A triangle with 3 acute angles
Right Triangle A triangle with ONE right angle
Obtuse Triangle A triangle with an obtuse angle.
Equilateral Triangle A triangle with 3 equal length sides.
Isosceles Triangle A triangle with 2 equal length sides.
Scalene Triangle A triangle with no equal length sides.
