five most used tools in hair sculpting shears, razors, clippers, combs, taper shears
shears produce clean blunt edge, by varying the position of the shears as you sculpt, you can create subtle variations in the hair strand.
taper shears consist of one straight blade and one serrated blade. they produce distinct and regular alternation of shorter and longer lengths.
razor produces tapering or angled effect on the end of each strand, which results in more mobility and a softer, somewhat diffused form line.
clippers an electric tool that can achieve a variety of effects, depending on the blade attachment, or guard, used. can be used to create, precise lines or a soft, broom like effect.
comb used to distribute and control the hair before and during sculpting.
form line outer boundary or sillhoutte of any shape or form
crest area widest area around the head
trimmer is used to create an outline, and refine the hairline
taper/contour comb controls short perimeter lengths when sculpting against the skin.

top of the head is the apex
nape area below the occipital
