privation (noun) deprived of basic necessities or comforts
divest (verb) getting rid of
renounce (verb) give it up
elegiac (adjective) describes a feeling of sadness at many types of losses.
bereave (verb) to leave desolate usually by death
culinary (adjective) describes anything relating to cooking or the kitchen
gourmet (adjective or noun) expert of fine food and drink
epicurean (noun) very discriminating taste in food and wine.
gluttony (noun) excessive eating or drinking
voracious (adjective) ravenous or excessively hungry
savory (adjective) appetizing to taste or smell. As a noun, the word means a piquant or salty appetizer.
omnivorous (adjective) eating both animal and vegetable foods.
gastronomy (noun) Refers to the art or science of good eating.
palatable (adjective) Acceptable to taste or sufficiently flavorable to be eaten
succulent (adjective) juicy, either literally or figuratively.
