The order of the electromagnetic spectrum from highest frequency/energy to lowest is: - Gamma waves (highest) - X rays - Ultra violet waves - Visible light waves - Infra-red waves - Microwaves - Radio waves (lowest)
What do all the waves listed transfer? Energy.
What type of wave are these? Transverse waves.
How do all these waves travel? At the same speed (300,000,000 m/s) through a vacuum.
These waves can all be...(3 things) Reflected, refracted & diffracted.
What is the equation for wave speed? Wave speed = frequency (f) x wavelength (λ)
What is MHz called and what does it measure? Hertz and the unit of frequency.
How do you work out the wave frequency? 1 ----------- time period
