Possible Temperatures for Surface Currents Based on the formation of the Surface Current.
Possible Temperatures for Deep Currents It will be cold.
El Nino An abnormal climate event that happens every 2 to 7 years in the Pacific Ocean.
Deep Currents Caused by differences in density rather than surface winds
Surface Currents Warms or cools the air above it, influencing the climate of the land near the coast.
Climate The pattern of temperature and precipitation typical of an area over a long period of time.
Coriolis Effect The effect of the Earth's rotation on the direction of the winds and currents
Currents Large streams of moving water that flow through the oceans.
Deflect When Surface Currents meet the continents, the currents change direction.
Density The amount of matter in a given space of volume.
Salinity The measure of the amount of salts and other dissolved minerals in a liquid.
The Deepest and Densest Deep Ocean Current Antarctic Bottom Water
North Atlantic Deep Water Less dense and forms in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Three ways to have Deep Currents Decreasing temperature, Increasing Salinity Through Freezing, and Increasing Salinity Through Evaporation.
La Nina Happens when surface-water temperatures in the eastern Pacific become unusually cool.
