Vertex The point where the two rays meet
Right Angle Exactly 90 degrees
Acute Angle Less than 90 degrees
Obtuse Angle Greater than 90 degrees
Straight Exactly 180 degrees
Vertical Angle Opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines
Congruent Have the same measure
Adjacent Angle They share a common vertex, a common side, and do not overlap
Prism Three dimensional figure with at least two parallel faces
Bases Congruent faces that are polygons
Pyramid A three dimensional figure with one base that is a polygon
Plane A flat surface that goes on forever in all direction
Coplanar They lie in the same plane
Parallel They will never intersect
Polyhedron A three dimensional figure with flat surface that are polygons
Edge Two planes intersect in a line
Face A flat surface
Vertex Where three or more planes intersect at a point
Diagonal A line segment whose endpoints are vertices that are neither adjacent nor on the same face
Cylinder A three dimensional figure with two parallel congruent circular bases connected by a curved surface
Cone On circular base connected by a curved side to a single vertex
Cross Section The intersection of a solid and plane of the solid
Supplementary Angles If the sum of their measures is 180 degrees
Complementary Angles If the sum of their measures is 90 degrees
Acute Triangle All acute side
Right triangle 1 right triangle
Obtuse Triangle 1 obtuse angle
Scalene Triangle No congruent sides
Isosceles Triangle At least 2 congruent sides
Equilateral Triangle 3 congruent sides
Triangle A figure with three sides and three angles
Congruent Segments Sides with the same length
Scale model Model used to represent objects that are too large or too small to be built at actual size
