Solubility first 3 dissolve in water, form hydrogen bonds between OH- and H20. Large alcohols the carbon chain is too long, non polar.
How is ethanol manufactured? steam hydration (of ethene) with an acid catalyst. 300C and 6atm
How else is ethanol manufactured? fermentation of glucose 37C and yeast produces CO2
