Terms and information that can be gained from the periodic table

Group A elements are called Representative elements
Group B elements are called Transition elements
Columns in the periodic table are called Groups or Family
How is the energy level of an element's valence electrons related to its period on the periodic table? The energy level of an element's valence electrons is equal to the element's period number.
