protractor a tool used to measure angles
acute angle an angle less than 90 degrees
obtuse angle an angle greater than 90 degrees
straight angle an angle that measures 180 degrees
right angle an angle equal to 90 degrees
center the point inside a circle that is the same distance from all the points on the circle
chord a segment whose endpoints lie on a circle
diameter the distance across a circle through its center
radius a line segment that has one endpoint on a circle and the other endpoint at the center of the circle
scalene triangle a triangle with no equal sides
isosceles triangle a triangle with two equal sides
equilateral triangles all sides of the triangle are equal in length
acute triangle a triangle with 3 acute angles
obtuse triangle a triangle with exactly one obtuse angle
right triangle a triangle with exactly one right angle, 90 degrees
hypotenuse the side opposite the right angle in a right triangle
leg the 2 sides of a triangle that form the right angle
line an infinite amount of points that extend forever in two directions (symbol has an arrow on both ends)
line segment a portion of a line that contains two endpoints (symbol is just a straight line)
ray a part of a line that begins at a point and extends in one direction without end (symbol has an arrow on one end)
parallel lines two lines that never intersect
perpendicular lines two lines that intersect to form four right angles
