### Speed and Motion

TermDefinition
Velocity most like speed BUT IT INCLUDES DIRECTION " vector quantity that refers to "the rate at which an object changes its position." "
acceleration the change in the rate of speed over a period of time; " vector quantity that is defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object is accelerating if it is changing its velocity."
Formula for figuring out Velocity V=d/t Velocity = distance divided by time
Formula for figuring out Acceleration A=V2 - V1 divided by time A=v/t
Label for velocity mi/hr (miles per hour), km/hr (kilometers per hour), m/hr (meters per hour), m/sec (meters per second), . . . etc
Label for acceleration m/sec2 (meters per second squared)
