alignment refers to the horizontal position of a line of text
left align on left margin
right align on right margin
center align center of a line of text
justified align align text to the left and right margins evenly adding extra space between
enhancing features bold, italic, and underline
undo reverse the last change you made in text
redo reverse the last undo action
hyphenation feature that will automatically divide words that would normally wrap to the next line. This evens the right margin making text more attractive.
page breaks signal the end of a page and the beginning of a new page
soft page break a page is automatically inserted when the current page is full
hard page break inserted manually when you want a new page to begin before the current page is full
tabs used for indenting text and for arranging text in columns on the same line
left tabs all text aligned evenly on the left
right tabs all text aligned evenly on the right -commonly used to align whole numbers
decimal tabs align all text at the decimal point
margins used to change the amount of blank space at the top, bottom, right, and left edges of the paper
line spacing used to change the amount of white space left between line of texts/sentences
serif face font has lines, curves, or edges extending from the ends of the letter; more readable and generally used for documents
sans face font straight edged; typically used for headlines
script face font looks like handwriting; used for more invitations and announcements
superscript is a character that prints above the writing line
subscript is a character that prints below the line
bullet is a dot or symbol used to highlight points of information or to itemize a list
SAVE AS is used when you wish to save a document under a different filename or in a different location
thesaurus used to find words that have similar meaning to a words in your document
