| poetry | a type (genre) of literature that uses on or more poetic device like rhythm, rhyme, and figurative language. |
| prose | Ordinary form of written language. It's not poetry, drams, or song. It occurs in fiction and non-fiction. |
| blank verse | A form of poetry that doesn't rhyme, It has a rhythm comparable to a heartbeat. |
| iambic pentameter | A type of blank verse that has 10 syllables per line, every-other syllable is stresses (da DUM, da DUM) |
| inflection (n.) | A change in the tone or pitch of a voice that shows emotions like anger, confusion, etc. |
| dialogue (n.) | a conversation. It is a literary form in which two or more parties engage in a discussion. |
| hyperbole (n.) | an exaggeration; hyperbole is used to create emphasis. |
| allusion (n.) to allude (v.) | a reference to a place, event, literary work, myth, or work of art. |
| pun (n.) | A joke in which words have a similar sound but different meaning |
| proverb (n.) | a sentence or phrase which expresses a universal truth; they are pearls of wisdom |
| revel (n.) to revel (v.) Act 1 | noun- a festival/party verb-to enjoy a festival |
| audacious (adj.) Act 5 | showing an impudent lack or respect. |
| progeny (n.) Act 2 | offspring, the children you will have |
